(Los Angeles, Calif.) Aug. 11, 2009 - Universal Music Group/Dream Records artist PRESS PLAY continues to build momentum with its debut project, Life is Beautiful. Featuring a blend of pop, rock and urban flair, Life is Beautiful exploded from its initial release and launched PRESS PLAY into the spotlight on and off-stage. It debuted at #2 on the Billboard Christian chart and #45 on the Billboard Top 200 chart while peaking at #3 on the iTunes Top Christian and Gospel charts. In its quick emergence, the band has already performed before millions nationwide and was recently featured as a musical guest on the #1 rated NBC’s TODAY Show, FOX News Strategy Room, will be featured in an upcoming issue of Seventeen magazine, with more national media appearances to be announced soon.
With unprecedented success as one of Christian music’s top newcomers, PRESS PLAY continues to maintain its solid position on Christian radio, as one of its top played artists. The current radio single, “Life is Beautiful” reached the Top Ten on the Billboard Christina AC chart. The group’s new single “Say Say” goes for ads at Christian AC radio on August 28, 2009.
In addition to the band’s chart success and radio recognitions, PRESS PLAY is currently touring nationwide, playing numerous festivals, national events and major market churches each week. This is in addition to playing before 4,000 people weekly in its home church, Angelus Temple, at the Dream Center in L.A. The band also performs weekly at the newly launched NYC Dream Center location each Monday evening at the Promise Theater near Times Square in Manhattan, NY.
Despite a set back with lead singer Dave Hanley recovering from a recent auto accident, PRESS PLAY has performed without missing any scheduled tour date, praising God with its music for Hanley’s speedy recovery. “We are so thankful for the past and present support of so many people and would ask for continued prayer as Dave heads for full recovery,” says Dave’s wife Gina Hanley, who also contributes backup vocals to PRESS PLAY.
Brought together by a common passion for music and for seeing lives transformed, the members of PRESS PLAY give their time to the vision of the Los Angeles Dream Center; a non-profit outreach founded by Matthew Barnett, dedicated to helping inner-cities across the U.S. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the L.A. & N.Y. based Dream Centers provide solutions to our community and society’s troubling issues; such as human trafficking, abandoned teens, gangs, homeless families, drugs and violence. PRESS PLAY continues to donate proceeds from the Life is Beautiful project to the work of the Dream Center, to see lives transformed.
PRESS PLAY is made up of Dave Hanley, Tyler Ray Logan, Anthony Rick, Paige Adkins (daughter of popular comedian Sinbad), Tate Huff and Brian Mondragon.
